Mum’s the w0rd

I’m typing out this post as Justin and I travel all the way to Charlottesville (which takes almost an hour and a half) to pick up our frogs! The place we originally wanted to get them didn’t get the shipment in that they were expecting, so after he called a bunch of other stores- the only one that had it was Charlottesville. Funnily enough, it’s the store right next to the World Market I used to work at (:

But back to the point of this…my mom paid us a visit this past weekend and we had a very nice day at the park with her, just walking in the sunshine!

She met us at our apartment and we had a lovely lunch of steak in salads made by my wonderful, handsome man (: then we went out for a quick Starbucks run before heading to Maymont park…where we saw COWS ^ look how cute!

We didn’t take too many pictures as it was a gorgeous day (after having such frigid weather for a while) and the park looked beautiful in the setting sun. Mom did ask for me to take her photo with the children’s statue ^ adorable!

All in all it was a great time spent with my mom and I’m hoping we’ll be able to do more things like this this year. With her work schedule and ours, it’s tough sometimes to get days like this one. Every moment with family is cherished (:

I’m extremely excited to finally say our family is growing by getting our first pets (no matter how small) together as a couple. It’s a proud time to know we can provide for something living besides ourselves and one day we’ll advance to cats/dogs and eventually another tiny human! Looking forward to that, but not anytime soon haha I’ll catch you guys in the next one…

    1. Thank you, that’s too sweet of you! I would recommend this awesome restaurant called The Hardware Store, but they unfortunately closed it a few years back- had the BEST chicken nuggets lol but I think my favorite part of Charlottesville is Carter Mountain Orchard (: we go apple picking there every fall, but they’re open during the summer too

  1. You all look really cute together! I cannot wait to see the frogs. I’ve never seen anyone getting frogs as pets. It must be interesting.. and slimy πŸ˜€

    1. Thank you! We brought them home last night and when we put them in- they were less slimy and more sticky than I would think, but it didn’t leave any grossness behind on your hands. I can’t wait to gather all the pics into a post soon (:

  3. A park day in the sun is always a great idea, especially with your loved ones! And I couldn’t agree more that it’s so important to cherish every moment, especially when our schedules don’t allow us to spend as much time as we would like with family and friends. Also, I cannot wait to see your frogs – I bet they are adorable :’)
