Nuptial prep

One of my older sisters is getting married in 2 weeks, so my mom and my other sister & I have met up at her house to go over plans a few times. Everyone has their assignments, what to wear, things to do, basically whatever we can help with. Here’s a couple snapshots from our get-togethers over the past weeks…

If you didn’t know already, my sister’s house has wonderful selfie lighting in the living room ^ so my other sister and I took advantage! We even showed off our matching light ends of our hair haha

The first time we met up, I matched my shoes to my shirt and my PokΓ©mon bottle ^ Samantha (the one getting married) made chicken salad, but she used avocado instead of mayo and it was delicious! I had mine wrapped in a big piece of lettuce to avoid the gluten of having it as a sandwich. Mom brought Macy who seemed to enjoy lounging around inside and out. I brought pics of a bunch of dresses I thought would work with the color scheme of the event, so I let her choose which one she liked best…

Then we got into deciding on a champagne to have for the toast ^ she picked out a Prosecco that was very nice. She also made a crude sample of what flavor cake she wanted to have- she said one layer wasn’t strawberry enough and the other was too strawberry! We all agreed the icing was too sweet, so she’s gonna work on perfecting that & there will be more layers on the final cake. She wants to have a fake flower on it though for sure. Afterwards, we headed upstairs to discuss what each person would be assigned to do. This meant lists! If you know me, you know I love a good list, so I was more than ready. Even Justin got the task of helping hang pictures along with the string lights inside the venue as decoration…

Out in the backyard ^ Hunter was put on a lead while Samantha cut some slats out of an old palette for signage she wanted to make. This girl is doing it all! Us 3 sisters planned to get our nails done together the day before the wedding, but I don’t think I’ll be attending cause the appointment is at 9am and I live quite far from the shop they’re going to, so I’m probably just going to meet them for lunch afterwards (:

There she is ^ Samantha asked that I make a sample of the sweet tea I’m gonna be making in bulk (2 gallons) for her wedding and bring it to our second meeting. Justin brewed it up the night before and she really liked it, but said it could be a bit sweeter since her hubby-to-be likes super sugary tea haha I’m also in charge of place settings & table arrangements. I folded all the cloth napkins nice and neatly so we can stick silverware inside the pocket. She also wants to place a sprig of rosemary in them too! I can’t wait to take pics of everything (:

Even though my sister is having a private ceremony without any wedding party, I’m very excited to be a part of it and help with whatever she needs- she even said I can be the photographer’s assistant and fluff her dress for the photos lol I’m so happy for her and I can’t wait to show you all whatever little bits of the wedding I’ll be able to share! Stay tuned (:

  1. Aww this seems really fun and a nice family bonding time. πŸ™‚ I’ve never been part of a wedding before. It’s probably much cheaper and less stressful that your sister is having a more private ceremony. I doubt I will ever get married, but if I do, I doubt I will have a wedding party either. I’m an only child, so I have no siblings that could partake, and I don’t have any close friends, so I wouldn’t have anybody to be bridesmaids or anything.

    1. Yeah, I know what you mean. I can’t choose between my sisters for who my maid of honor will be, so I’ll either have both of them or just ask my mom (: I want a wedding party, but I wanna keep it small so it’s not as hectic- or expensive haha
