20-Q literary tag

Hellu,

I’m finally doing a tag again! I feel like I haven’t done one (or an award) in a long while, so I stole this from the lovely Bayance whose post was so awesome it inspired me to answer the 20 questions too!

1. How many books are too many in a series?

I think it depends on what kind of series it is:

A) the type of series that has a similar theme with different stories that don’t correlate chronologically- infinite amount of books

B) the type of series that has the same characters going through stages of a single story over multiple books chronologically- maybe 5 at most

Sub-series’ or spin-offs are nice too, but most of the time cannot compare to the original series!

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I’m only okay with cliffhangers at the end of books that have more in their series, otherwise I feel like it ruins the whole experience of the book you just read…

3. Hardcover or paperback?

Hardcover to collect/display, paperback for on-the-go/sharing. So both!

4. Favorite book?

Dream House by Marzia Bisognin (my first tattoo is even inspired by it)

5. Least favorite book?

The Great Gatsby, The Joy Luck Club, The Crucible (plus any other required-reading from middle and high school)

6. Love triangle or no?

If the entire story is based on it, then that’s fine. But if it’s just some background storyline that makes the main theme confusing, then it’s a hard no from me…

7. The most recent book you couldn’t finish?

The Picture of Dorian Gray (less recently: The Eye of Minds)

8. Book you’re currently reading?

I’m working on re-reading a certain book as a goal for March, but once I’m finished with that- I’ll be starting A Long Way Home by Saroo Brierly & Larry Buttrose

9. The last book you recommended to someone?

The Martian by Andy Weir

10. Oldest published book you’ve read?

Probably the Bible lol

11. Newest published book you’ve read?

Dream House by Marzia Bisognin

12. Favorite author?

Rick Riordan

13. Buy or borrow?

Buy. I think I’ve only borrowed books for schoolwork, and I just really would rather have a collection of my own!

14. Book you dislike that everyone likes?

The Twilight series, The Book Thief, The Great Gatsby…

15. Bookmark or dog-ear?

Bookmark in your hardcovers, but paperbacks are okay to dog-ear

16. Book you can read over and over?

Dream House by Marzia Bisognin

17. Can you read while listening to music?

Only if it’s instrumental, no lyrics

18. Multiple POVs or single POV?

It really depends on the genre of the book: multiple POVs works in mystery/horror while single POV is good for thriller/suspense and most other genres. They both can be written well over series’

19. Do you read books in one sitting or over multiple days/weeks?

I don’t think I’ve ever read a book in one sitting, definitely over many weeks/months!

My added-in question

20. Favorite book genre?

Fiction: YA Fantasy/Mystery

That was it for this tag! If you’d like to complete it too, you’re more than welcome and I’d love to read through your answers to these 20 questions. Tag me if you want me to check out your post (:

  1. AAAH GIRL I’M IN LOVE WITH THE PICTURES AND BOOK COLLECTION! Thank you for the shoutout – I’m glad you made this post it was so fun to read! Yesss anything related to school work is always bad to be honest like why can’t teachers pick good books? Some of them weren’t so bad but most were extremely boring. Wooow I should’ve guessed Dream House is by Marzia. How long have you been a fan? ๐Ÿ˜‚ I totally agree with you on cliffhangers and love triangles. Love thisss!
