4 tips 4 self-care


I feel like self-care is always popping up randomly in my posts that I wanted a good list of the things I find myself doing often to relax & unwind. My me-time routine, if you will… I’ve put together an easy guide for self-care that you can do some of, all of, or even mix & match these things with other ways you’ve found work better for you! Tip #1: wake up & refresh

I find that starting a day of self-care gets kicked off best when I give my skin a pick-me-up of hydration & something to wake it up as well! I love this new gel booster from Derma-e with the matcha face milk from Fourth Ray over it. I feel instantly more awake & ready to tackle the day with that duo patted into my skin. I also have been finding myself more drawn to taking special care of my nails as part of my pampering routine. I’ve got this wonderful lavender cuticle oil that smells so lovely & it’s perfect for an at-home manicure. Trying to keep my nails even and smooth around the edges gets more challenging with the amount of hours I’m working, but I’ve found even if I don’t have time to paint them with a color- just a coat or 2 of nail strengthener can be a life saver! Sitting back to relax while they dry is one of my favorite parts (:

Tip #2: multi-masking

Say it with me…skincare is self-care! I love face masks (if you couldn’t tell) and one of my favorite things to do when I’ve got the time for it is multiple masks in a row. Whether it’s a sheet + a non-sheet or a microdermabrasion + a soothing/hydrating leave-on mask ALWAYS make sure that your skin can handle this. I know it isn’t ideal for sensitive types, but it can really be a nice way to detox or reset your skin if you do it right. This was the first time I had tried a mud sheet mask ^ and I was kinda confused as to why this is a thing because in my mind, the pro of using a sheet mask is no rinsing/cleanup…but you still have to wash the mud off after this one so idk lol after I used my trusty Aphrodite olive oil deep cleansing mask to further hydrate & get all the nasty off my face. Remember not to leave your masks on longer than directed!

Tip #3: soft things

Whether it’s socks, slippers, a cardigan, a robe, blankets, your pets, etc. keeping cozy while you relax is a must! I’m obsessed with the quality & softness of the Gelato Pique x Tsuki cardigan and sock combo. I’ve got a whole drawer of fuzzy socks that I enjoy wearing after I’ve lotioned up (:

Tip #4: calming scents/flavors

I forgot photos of my candles, but candles too! Just don’t forget to blow them out if you think you might fall asleep on the couch lol anyways, now that you’re in your cozy clothes or bundled up in that pile of blankets- what’s better than a relaxing cup of chamomile or another herbal tea? Using scents like lavender, ylang-ylang, and chamomile while you’re washing up or applying a lotion after your bath can help you unwind as probably the easiest self-care even when you can’t take the entire day to pamper yourself. Aromatherapy is my jam after a long day at work, don’t even have to have your eyes open to enjoy it!

BONUS: Marzia’s FRESH box

Sadly, the final box from Marzia as she’s decided to end her subscription service ^ but alas, a great one to end them! This has so many lovely products inside that I’ve already started digging in & can’t wait to try the rest of them. She designed the socks, bag, and tea steeper herself with adorable doodles ^_^ and I’m still happy she’s doing what she loves with Maì & look forward to more artsy fun stuff from her in the future!

I hope you enjoyed this quick rundown of some of my tips for self-care. I tried to pick the ones I practice most & the easiest ones to do at home or by yourself. There’s plenty more you can do to take more care of yourself that involves leaving your house & being with other people, but that’s for another post, another day!
